I'm not colour blind.
A couple blog posts back I said that I wanted to spend the winter months giving the old house a facelift. I vowed to hold myself accountable and not just say-it-but-don't-do-it like usual.
I started with the bathroom. Pulled up the laminate, threw out the old vanity and sink, and off I went. I found a large dresser on Marketplace and shit my pants thinking that I'd made a mistake because this monster was going to take up the entire space in my bathroom.... but after it was placed, instant love and affection. And then came the sink. Have you ever had a crush on a sink? I don't get many fancy things. I got a fancy sink and I freaking love it. It's literally beautiful.
The plumbing on the other hand. Oy. It's installed. It will do. For now. We're going to need to get a plumber in to do it properly, but one of us also needs to get a job.
House renos and revamps cost money. Of course the year that I actually stick to my guns and do what I say I'll do, one of us isn't working. And the one that is makes shit money that isn't even a living wage. That's me, by the by.
Anyway, where was I? So, the new vanity, sink and tap are in and installed and working beautifully. I spent a weekend putting in a new laminate floor and it's gorge. (Also, that floor was installed by myself. With zero help, thank you very much.) And that's where it's ended. Me, who usually knows exactly what coloour I want and where to get it, and that it's going to look fantastic before it's even a thing... cannot pick a damned paint colour to my life. I need to paint. I need to paint so I can trim and finish and be all look at this gorgeous finished space. I can't do it. I cannot find a damned paint colour that suits my fancy. And it's not even an excuse. I literally cannot decide. And when I do decide, I spend 10 bucks on a sample pot because all of the above... and it turns out to look like I'm painting a baby boy's nursery. Ugh.
